  1. I think, respect for his subordinates should be present as well to create rapport that will make the team and all their projects a success. We shouldn't only give credit to the project manager for the success of his team. Also, remember that without a working team then it'll be a failure. According to another blog, having technical skills for a project manager can be a bad thing. Knowing a lot on a certain aspect of the project can cause delay to the project due to the manager's prying.

  9. For project management, I use Replicon's suite ( http://www.replicon.com/time-tracking-softwares.aspx ). My friend has introduced this application, who used it for measuring billable hours and project work. I’ve since re-purposed it for a more personal use. It has applications for iOS and Android platform, as well as desktop and the standard web application. I suggest to use the mobile application or cloud-based application as that way we can change activities instantly and on-the-go.
